When will my p-EBT benefits start?
Starting March 2021, you will receive benefits on the 25th of each month. Benefits will cover the month before. For example, in March you will receive P-EBT for the month of February. Summer P-EBT will be available on July 25 and August 25.
Do I have to apply for P-EBT If I am already on EBT?
Families do not need to apply for P-EBT. Eligible families already receiving Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) benefits will receive an additional benefit on their existing EBT card. Families who received P-EBT in the spring and are eligible under the new criteria will receive additional benefit on their original P-EBT card.
What happens if I don't use my p-EBT card for my child?
It does not matter how much or little of the P-EBT benefit is used, any amount will cause the removal clock to reset. Once benefits have been removed from the card after nine months of inactivity, they cannot be reissued. If you receive P-EBT benefits for your child and do not wish to participate, simply destroy and throw away the card.
