Essentially the old claim gets dumped and a new claim filed with a new starting claim balance and the correct backdated claim date. Person certifies all weeks over again from oldest to newest. Initially the weeks paid already on the old claim will be taken back as an overpayment. It's for the system to account already paying you for those weeks. Once all weeks are claimed the resulting total payments should be for the weeks they owe you from the backdated claim date to the original claim date.
