Fun but stressful

It can be very fun when you are booked back to back with clients, and hitting your goals. You have both waxing and sales goals and its frustrating when the two aren't met.

Fun place to work- making people feel and look good

Company takes care of their people. Fun, creative work in an atmosphere where you can be yourself. The benefits and decent living wage makes this company a great one to work for.

It was okay

I worked for Benefit Cosmetics part time as a arch expert inside of Ulta. Cool experience, the lady who hired me was really sweet. The trainer was intimidated by means that had its own set of issues. Outside of that situation gratis was decent, love their eyeliner and brow pencils. Waxing and tinting was cool, would I do it full time, no.

Overall really positive environment

My team is very helpful, and overall my clients are really amazing. Every so often I do meet someone who is very particular but that just requires a bit more time into the service which is fine when I’m not fully booked. My team will help out and take a client of mine if they’re free so mine aren’t waiting which is so helpful.

If I could give this job no stars I would

Hands down the worst experience of my life. The management bullies you and belittles you. We are constantly told and treated like we are replaceable. HR & corporate are a joke, they are not there to support you whatsoever. Managers come in and out as they please since they are salary. I’d say 50% of the time or more they were no where to be found.

Some smart passionate people

Very clique culture and little diversity at the management level. Managers are completely disengaged in developing teams and there is very little room for advancement. There’s this mentality that if you don’t like it, you can leave. Everyone is replaceable. Run away as far as she can from this company.

Just so supportive and positive. Best job i ever had

If it wasn't for the pandemic, I would have worked for Benefit until retirement. I have nothing bad to say about working for them. Every day was a party. The culture there is all about having fun and making women feel beautiful no matter their age. The products were top quality and we were given excellent training all year round.

Fast Paced Environment with lots of moving parts

Things are always changing day-to-day. Its never the same. Thats probably true for most retail environments but this one also has salon services so there are so many different things going on. From interactions with colleagues to customers. You have to genuinely like talking to people and working with a team to thrive in this environment.

Do not recommend

Management has an unrealistic expectation of the services that can be performed in a specific time frame to the point even clients became aware that a 5 minute brow wax was not sufficient time to complete a service.

Friendships made but poor management

benefit was a very target driven company, you have to hit a certain amount of sales each day. we had to try sell the whole shop to each customer who walked in, even if they where just wanting a replacement item, which was made us feel very under pressure. you where made to feel guilty for booking annual leave, management came first with leave.

Personal experience

This place has helped me grow and expand not only my abilities to wax but also to learn other services . Anything you don’t know , they will help you learn and understand it before just diving right in . Supper positive atmosphere and great clientele

Social environment

Very face paced, targets to hit so very competitive, the girls are lovely and very supportive. I would recommend to work here if you are a social person.

The worst!

Please look somewhere else. Management is micromanaged they push and drive you to make numbers and sells but don’t provide the time to realistically do that. Also they do not hold clients and or customers accountable for being late. A client can walk in 15 minutes and they will fit them in even when the time is not available.

fun environment, supper busy

Fun environment, I worked at 2 locations I perfed one over the other and it had to do with the management. Often over booked didn't have time for full lunch or brakes.

When is Beauty Advisor 2020?

Official Beauty Advisor and Sales Representative (Current Employee) - Edinburgh - 29 June 2020. Targets for sales always need to be met so even on slow days you are expected to make a lot of money. I’ve been told by other makeup counters that benefit is the most stressful counter to work.

Is Benefit Cosmetics money hungry?

Benefit Cosmetics are money hungry and will save money wherever possible, even if that means treating their staff poorly. I could write on about this company for pages and pages but just know Benefit are not the pink bubbly bundle of joy they portray themselves to be. Pros. Nothing. Cons.

Is makeup counter work stressful?

A good job but very stressful. You have to go up to customers and encourage them to come to the counter and start applying makeup or showing them the newest product out.

Not a healthy work environment

I've been working in the beauty /skincare space for 9 years and working here was an unhealthy experience. It's different for everyone but here is my personal story: I worked at their corporate office in SF for two years full time. The turn over rate is so high the two years I was there I kept getting a new manager every couple of months.

Benefit was great. ULTA was not

I mean I was doing what I loved. Making women fall in love with their brows all over again. Benefit has a specific style of brow archery and I loved it. I learned a lot and got to use their products and plan events. Pretty cool.
